Our Intensive, Three-Week Pathway to Competency

Week 1: Foundational Clinical Mastery (Classroom-Based)
The journey begins with a comprehensive face-to-face teaching week led by our senior clinical trainers in a dedicated learning environment. This is where we build the core knowledge base.

- Clinical Skills Immersion: Trainers cover all aspects of the health surveillance and medical assessments OHTs will conduct, including the precise protocols for services such as audiometry, spirometry, HAVS screening, and vision assessments. The emphasis is on a hands-on practical approach, using our specialised equipment to ensure proficiency from day one.
- Professional and Compliance Frameworks: Training extends beyond clinical skills to cover essential business operations – from accurate data recording and confidentiality protocols to efficient scheduling, expense management, and reporting as a field-based professional. This ensures our technicians operate with total administrative excellence.
Week 2 & Early Week 3: On-Site Mentorship and Real-World Application (Shadowing)
After mastering the fundamentals, new technicians move into the field for a pivotal on-site shadowing phase alongside a dedicated Senior OHT.

- Contextual Learning: They gain invaluable experience in managing clinic flow, communicating with site managers and employees, and adapting clinical protocols to diverse industrial environments, ensuring they can handle the practical logistics of a mobile occupational health service.
- Mentorship and Feedback: The senior technician acts as a mentor, providing immediate, constructive feedback on technique, patient interaction, and compliance, solidifying the hands-on experience gained in the first week.
Late Week 3: Final Review and Competency Sign-Off
The programme concludes with a return to the classroom for the final assessment and launch into their new role.

Only upon passing this rigorous final assessment are they deemed a fully competent OHT ready to serve our clients independently.
